Chevron's Nigerian subsidiary completed the Awodi-07 appraisal and exploration well. The project operates as a joint venture with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) in the western Niger Delta.

The well encountered approximately 675 feet of hydrocarbon pay. This included 310 feet in appraisal reservoirs. An additional 365 feet was found across six new exploration sands.

The discovery aligns with Chevron’s strategy to grow its resource base in shallow-water areas. The company seeks to extend the life of existing assets. Chevron stated the appraisal section unlocked clear development potential. Exploration results indicate additional regional upside.

This success follows two other recent exploration successes for Chevron in Nigeria since late 2024.
