Delta Air Lines welcomed Amala Duggirala as its new Chief Digital & Technology Officer (CDTO) today. This marks her official first day, succeeding Rahul Samant, the former Chief Information Officer. Samant retires after a decade of service to the company.
Duggirala joins Delta from USAA, where she served as EVP and Chief Information Officer. In her new role, she reports directly to CEO Ed Bastian.
She will oversee a newly combined technology and digital function. This strategic unification merges commercial digital products with the enterprise technology foundation. Delta intends this move to accelerate its evolution into a technology-driven consumer brand.
