Delta Air Lines extended its New York-Tel Aviv flight suspension through the end of March on Thursday. The carrier cited escalating Middle East tensions and safety risks for the operational change. Delta also delayed the resumption of its Atlanta-Tel Aviv route until at least August 4.
The airline initially paused these services in late February following regional conflict. Global aviation continues to navigate widespread disruptions including airspace closures and rerouting.
Citi analysts highlighted Delta's relative resilience to rising fuel costs on the same day. The bank noted that Delta's ownership of a refinery insulates the carrier from fuel price shocks. This asset provides a key advantage over competitors amidst current geopolitical instability.
