Delta signs five-year Shell deal, targeting 10% sustainable fuel by 2030

Delta Air Lines signed a five-year agreement with Shell Aviation to increase the supply and use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

The partnership expands SAF availability at five major U.S. hubs. These locations include Los Angeles (LAX), Portland (PDX), New York (JFK), Boston (BOS), and Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP).

This initiative supports Delta’s goal to use 10% SAF by 2030. The airline also aims to reach net-zero emissions by 2050.

SAF can reduce lifecycle emissions by up to 80% compared to traditional jet fuel. Delta and Shell will build infrastructure to make the fuel more scalable across the network.
