Delta Air Lines suspended operations at New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) after a ground collision forced the hub to close. An Air Canada Express aircraft collided with a Port Authority firetruck, leading to the shutdown. Delta expects disruptions to increase throughout Monday as it works to re-accommodate passengers.

Separately, a Delta flight bound for the Bahamas returned to LaGuardia after smoke was detected in the cockpit. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the event.

Operational challenges also impacted Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Delta’s primary hub. ICE agents are currently assisting with security screening in Atlanta to address significant delays. Delta reported 79 flight cancellations on Monday, while its subsidiary Endeavor Air recorded 98.
