DoorDash launched DoorDash Ask, an in-app AI chatbot designed to streamline the search and ordering process. The tool allows customers to use natural language prompts instead of traditional keyword searches and category filters. Users can input conversational queries such as "filling dinner for a family of 4" to receive tailored recommendations within seconds.
The chatbot aims to reduce time spent scrolling through the platform's extensive listings. DoorDash currently averages around 800,000 items per user.
The tool will integrate reservation capabilities alongside food and grocery ordering. DoorDash initially released the feature in select markets on iOS. A broader rollout is expected in the coming weeks.
