Raquel Lee Bolleau, a former child actress, filed a lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company. She alleges the company was negligent and failed to protect her from sexual assault by an employee. Bolleau was 14 at the time.
The alleged incidents occurred in 2001. They took place during the filming of the Disney Channel movie "The Poof Point."
Bolleau filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court. The suit claims a middle-aged male employee provided her with alcohol. He allegedly assaulted her multiple times.
Her complaint asserts Disney personnel encouraged her to spend time with the employee. It also states personnel separated her from her guardian. The complaint alleges Disney failed to act on warning signs. These signs included a noticeable decline in her health and on-set performance.
Bolleau seeks compensatory and punitive damages.
