Spider-Man: Brand New Day set a new U.S. box office record with a $168 million opening day. This total surpassed the previous $157.4 million record held by Avengers: Endgame. Sony Pictures and Disney’s Marvel Studios co-produced the film.
The movie also broke the record for preview screenings by earning $72 million. Industry estimates suggest the film may challenge the $357 million domestic opening weekend record. Avengers: Endgame currently holds that three-day record.
