Electronic Arts is set to win unconditional European Union approval for its $55 billion takeover.
An investor group including Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and Silver Lake is leading the acquisition.
The European Commission expects to clear the transaction by its July 30 deadline.
The deal represents the first major case under the EU’s new Foreign Subsidies Regulation.
Reviewers found that subsidies received by the investors would not create an unfair advantage within the 27-country bloc.
The acquisition is also expected to receive unconditional clearance under separate EU merger rules.
