Ford is recalling 223,472 vehicles in the U.S. over fuel tank safety concerns. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) identified the issue in certain 2023-2027 F-150 pickup trucks.
Improperly secured fuel tanks may leak or detach from the vehicle during operation. A detached tank creates a significant road hazard and increases the risk of a crash.
The NHTSA warns that fuel leaks can cause engine stalls or increase fire risks. Ford dealers will inspect and replace fuel tank straps at no cost to owners.
