GE Aerospace Confirms GE9X Fix, Keeping Boeing 777X On Track

GE Aerospace CFO Rahul Ghai confirmed a GE9X engine mid-seal fix will not delay the Boeing 777X launch. Ghai expressed confidence in the redesigned component during a Morgan Stanley conference. Engineers first identified the durability issue in January 2026.

GE Aerospace has begun shipping the updated GE9X engines to Boeing. The GE9X serves as the exclusive engine for the 777X widebody program. Boeing currently expects the 777X to enter service in 2027.
