Golar LNG reported a net income of $157.6 million for the first half of 2026. This figure represents a significant increase from the $43.7 million earned in the prior year. Full operations of the FLNG Gimi vessel and derivative gains drove the growth.

The company maintained a cash position of $908.5 million as of June 30, 2026. Management warned in a 6-K filing that the company requires additional capital for its FLNG expansion pipeline.

Golar plans to terminate the contract for its fourth FLNG unit by the end of the third quarter of 2026 without new financing. The company will also pause the FLNG Esperanza conversion by March 2027 to preserve liquidity. A recently secured $600 million credit facility aims to provide balance sheet flexibility for these growth initiatives.
