Alphabet's Google and Allied Manufacturing Corp. partnered to establish a new Chromebook production facility in Camarines Sur, Philippines. The initiative focuses on locally assembling Chromebooks and educational tech devices for distribution to public schools. This project aims to strengthen the nation's hardware supply chain and support the modernization of its public education system.

The new plant will be located within the CamSur Uptown Global City. Initial operations are slated to begin in 2026. The facility boasts a baseline production capacity of 100,000 units per month and will create significant local employment opportunities.

The manufacturing effort is part of a broader proposal involving PLDT Inc. PLDT will provide high-speed internet to an initial 1,000 pilot schools. The partnership holds the potential to expand connectivity to all public schools nationwide.
