Alphabet’s board approved a new triennial equity compensation package for CEO Sundar Pichai. His annual salary remains unchanged at $2 million. Pichai is not eligible for an annual bonus. This award continues a three-year cycle following his previous grant in December 2022.
The package includes Alphabet performance and restricted stock units with a target value of $210 million. These units vest based on shareholder returns relative to the S&P 100.
A new component links a significant portion of compensation to the performance of Alphabet’s Other Bets. Pichai received performance units with target values of approximately $130 million for Waymo and $45 million for Wing. These units vest over three years based on the valuation increases of those specific units.
