The U.S. government lifted export controls on Anthropic's Fable 5 and Mythos 5 artificial intelligence models. This decision ends a suspension that began on June 12 over national security concerns. Anthropic will restore global access to the Fable 5 model starting July 1.
The initial ban followed a report of a jailbreak that bypassed the model's cybersecurity safety features. Anthropic implemented new safeguards in coordination with officials to remove the restrictions.
Anthropic is now partnering with Google, Amazon, and Microsoft. The companies will create a standardized framework for assessing the severity of AI jailbreaks.
