The European Commission set a February 10 deadline to decide on Alphabet’s proposed $32 billion acquisition of cybersecurity firm Wiz Inc. The EC must either approve the deal or launch an in-depth investigation. This transaction would be Google's largest acquisition ever.

The acquisition is central to Google’s strategy. It aims to bolster the company's cloud computing division against competitors.

EU antitrust regulators are scrutinizing the transaction to assess its market impact. The deal previously received clearance from antitrust authorities in the United States in November.
