Google announced it is acquiring ProducerAI, an artificial intelligence music creation platform, which will be integrated into its experimental Google Labs division. The move signals Google's growing focus on generative AI for creative industries, placing it in more direct competition with specialized startups like Suno and Udio.

ProducerAI's platform, which launched in July 2025, allows users to generate sounds, workshop lyrics, and remix songs using AI agents. As part of the acquisition, the platform will be powered by Google's new Lyria 3 music generation model. The collaboration builds on Google's previous work in the space, including its Music AI Sandbox which has involved artists like Wyclef Jean.
