Alphabet Inc.'s Google will invest $10 billion to establish a large-scale data center and artificial intelligence (AI) hub in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The project includes the development of a 1-gigawatt data center campus in the port city of Visakhapatnam, which will feature AI infrastructure, significant energy sources, and an expanded fiber-optic network. A formal agreement between Google and the state government is expected to be signed on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. This investment marks Google's largest of its kind in India and comes as major tech companies are heavily investing in data center infrastructure to support the growing demand for AI services. The new facility is anticipated to be completed within two years.
