Google Cloud launched a new cloud region in Bangkok, Thailand, expanding its infrastructure in Southeast Asia. The region is part of Google's US$1 billion investment commitment to the country. It provides high-performance, low-latency cloud services to local organizations.
The launch is expected to contribute an estimated THB 1.4 trillion (US$41 billion) to Thailand's GDP. It will support around 130,000 jobs over the next five years.
The infrastructure supports Thailand’s goal of achieving an AI-driven digital economy. The move provides Thai organizations with enhanced data residency, reliability, and security, enabling them to leverage Google's AI and data analytics capabilities.
