Over 1,000 full-time Google employees signed an open letter. They demand parent company Alphabet sever ties with U.S. federal immigration agencies. The letter was reported on February 9, 2026.

The employees specifically target Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The letter accuses the company of lacking transparency regarding technology contracts with these government bodies.

Signatories call on CEO Sundar Pichai to cease all work related to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), ICE, and CBP. The letter alleges Google's technology powers surveillance and repression.

The signatories also demand greater safeguards. They request an all-hands meeting to address concerns about the company’s involvement in federal immigration enforcement activities.
