Google released Google AI Edge Eloquent, a new offline-first dictation application for iOS. The app utilizes on-device Gemma AI models to transcribe speech into text without an internet connection. This local processing ensures user privacy and reduces latency.

The software converts raw speech into polished text by automatically removing filler words. Users can reformat output into bullet points or formal tones. The application is free and operates without subscriptions or usage caps.

An optional cloud mode leverages Gemini models to further enhance text quality. Users may also import custom jargon from their Gmail accounts to increase transcription accuracy. This move positions Google to compete directly with Apple’s native dictation services and established voice-to-text apps.
