Google is set to enhance its Workspace suite with new conversational AI features for Gmail, Docs, and Keep, rolling out this summer. The update will allow users to ask natural language questions and receive answers sourced from their personal data within these applications. For example, a user could ask Gmail for their flight's gate number, and the AI would retrieve the information from relevant emails.
In Docs, a feature dubbed "Docs Live" will enable users to dictate ideas, which the system will then organize and flesh out by pulling relevant information from the user's Drive and Gmail accounts. Similarly, the feature in Keep will structure dictated thoughts into organized notes and reminders. These new capabilities will be available to subscribers of Google's AI Pro and Ultra plans, as well as in preview for Google Workspace business customers.
