Google is expected to formally sign a landmark agreement on October 14, 2025, for a $10 billion investment to build a 1-gigawatt data center cluster in Visakhapatnam, India. This project, which will be Google's largest direct investment in India's digital infrastructure, will feature three data center campuses and is anticipated to be operational by July 2028. The agreement is scheduled to be finalized in New Delhi between Google executives and Andhra Pradesh's IT and Electronics Minister, Nara Lokesh. The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has publicly confirmed the signing date. This massive data center hub is poised to be Asia's largest and will anchor India's first international AI Infrastructure Hub, significantly boosting the region's digital economy and AI capabilities.
