Singapore secured major partnerships with Google and OpenAI to strengthen its position as a global artificial intelligence hub.
Google expanded its existing agreement to establish a new National AI Partnership. This collaboration deploys AI technology across healthcare, education, and enterprise innovation sectors.
OpenAI signed a Memorandum of Understanding committing over S$300 million ($234 million) to the nation's AI ecosystem. The investment establishes OpenAI’s first Applied AI Lab located outside the United States. This initiative aims to create more than 200 specialized technical roles. OpenAI will develop AI systems specifically tailored to Singapore's national priorities.
