The Pentagon’s U.S. Cyber Command and the National Security Agency are launching a joint task force to deploy advanced artificial intelligence for hacking. This initiative will assess how commercial AI models can execute sensitive, classified missions for both offensive and defensive cyber operations.

Military officials aim to integrate tools from Silicon Valley firms like OpenAI and Anthropic into the national cyber arsenal. The move addresses concerns that commercial AI can discover and exploit software vulnerabilities faster than human experts.

The task force will establish a formal framework for acquiring and safely deploying these high-speed hacking capabilities.
