Robotics AI startup Physical Intelligence has announced a new model, π0.7, which it describes as a significant step toward a general-purpose brain for robots. The company's goal is to develop a single AI system that can control any robot to perform any physical task, moving beyond software tailored for specific hardware or functions.

The San Francisco-based company is developing what it calls a "robot foundation model," designed to understand and execute commands in the real world, such as folding laundry or assembling boxes. Physical Intelligence is supported by major investors including Alphabet's CapitalG, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and OpenAI, having raised over a billion dollars to date.
