U.S. authorities have indicted three former Google engineers for allegedly stealing trade secrets related to the company’s Tensor processor technology. The indictment claims the individuals transferred proprietary information to unauthorized locations, including Iran.

The defendants face charges of conspiracy to commit trade secret theft from Google and other technology firms, alongside counts of theft, attempted theft, and obstruction of justice. If convicted, the individuals face substantial prison sentences and fines for each count.

Google stated it alerted law enforcement immediately upon discovering the incident and has since enhanced its safeguards for confidential information. This case follows the recent conviction of another former Google engineer for stealing AI-related secrets for a Chinese startup.
