Inertia Enterprises, a fusion power startup founded by Twilio co-founder Jeff Lawson, raised $450 million in a Series A funding round. Bessemer Venture Partners and Alphabet’s GV co-led the investment.

The company will use the capital to construct one of the world’s most powerful lasers. This technology serves as the core component for Inertia’s commercially viable nuclear fusion model.

The round reflects a surge in private investment for deep-tech energy solutions. Rising energy demands from artificial intelligence are driving interest in long-term power production.
