xAI reached an agreement to provide Anthropic access to its Colossus 1 supercomputer. This system utilizes over 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs.
Anthropic will use this capacity to expand its Claude Pro and Claude Max AI services.
The companies also plan to develop orbital, space-based AI computing capacity. xAI stated that terrestrial infrastructure cannot meet the power and land requirements of next-generation AI. SpaceX's launch capabilities would serve as the primary enabler for this space-based solution.
