Grab faces Taiwan probe into Foodpanda deal, citing security risks

Taiwan regulators are scrutinizing Grab’s planned acquisition of Foodpanda’s local operations.

The review focuses on potential data security vulnerabilities and antitrust risks from market overlap. Officials are also investigating Grab’s corporate ties to major technology firms including Huawei and Uber.

The deal represents Grab’s first major expansion outside of Southeast Asia. Management expects to finalize the transaction in the second half of 2026, pending the regulatory outcome.
