IBM launched a three-year plan to implement generative AI services in India. The strategy targets the public sector through middleware and sector-specific AI models. IBM will avoid consumer applications and foundational AI development.

Ana Paula Assis, Chairperson for Asia-Pacific, Middle-East, and Africa, stated the company will use smaller, specialized AI models. These models address specific business needs.

IBM will not invest in building AI data centers. The company will help clients build infrastructure layers and software to deploy cloud services.
