Intel has officially entered the dedicated handheld gaming device market with the launch of its new Arc G3 and Arc G3 Extreme processors. These chips are based on Intel's latest 'Panther Lake' silicon and feature new Xe3 graphics architecture, including support for XeSS 3 AI-powered upscaling, to challenge competitors in the portable PC gaming space.
Both the G3 and G3 Extreme chips utilize a 14-core CPU configuration. The primary difference lies in the integrated GPU, with the G3 Extreme featuring a 12-core Arc B390 GPU and the standard G3 model using a 10-core Arc B370 GPU. The first devices to incorporate these new processors will be the Acer Predator Atlas 8 and a new version of MSI's Claw handheld, signaling initial hardware partner support for Intel's new venture.
