Intel Lands Fortinet as First Major Foundry Customer, Challenging TSMC

Intel and Fortinet will co-develop and manufacture the next-generation Security Processor 6 (SP6). Fortinet is the first named external customer for the Intel 4 process node.

This agreement marks a significant milestone for Intel Foundry Services as it scales to compete with TSMC. The partnership leverages Intel’s advanced packaging and manufacturing alongside Fortinet’s security ASIC expertise.

The deal aims to accelerate Fortinet's custom chip development. This collaboration also supports the creation of a more resilient and diversified global semiconductor supply chain.
