Intel has started mass production of its next-generation Xeon 6+ Clearwater Forest processors. This marks the first large-scale manufacturing milestone for the advanced Intel 18A process node. The launch signals progress in Intel’s strategy to reclaim global manufacturing leadership from rivals like TSMC. Success with the 18A node is critical for building market confidence in Intel Foundry Services.

The new Xeon processors feature up to 288 cores. Intel designed these chips for high-density applications including telecom infrastructure, edge AI, and cloud deployments. Initial tests demonstrate significant performance-per-watt improvements. These efficiency gains aim to reduce power consumption and operating costs for data centers. The 18A milestone also supports Intel’s future consumer product roadmap.
