Intel plans to invest an additional $15 million in AI chip startup SambaNova Systems. This move will increase Intel's total ownership stake to 9%.
The investment follows a $35 million infusion provided in February 2026. That previous funding raised Intel's ownership from 6.8% to 8.2%.
Lip-Bu Tan chairs SambaNova while also serving as the CEO of Intel. The companies are deepening a strategic collaboration formally announced in February.
The partnership aims to deliver high-performance AI solutions. SambaNova currently competes with market leader Nvidia in the AI hardware sector.
