Intel Resolves 18A Yield Issues, Targeting 30,000 Wafers Per Month

Intel has reportedly resolved wafer-to-wafer yield variability issues for its next-generation 18A manufacturing process. BlueFin Research Partners identified the fix, which enables more consistent and predictable production output. This milestone is critical for the upcoming Panther Lake product line and Intel's efforts to attract external foundry customers.

The company maintains a production capacity of approximately 30,000 wafer starts per month for the 18A process. These manufacturing operations are located across facilities in Oregon and Arizona.

While this development stabilizes Intel's path toward its manufacturing goals, the company still faces remaining production challenges. Financial markets showed no immediate reaction to the report.
