Intel announced its Xeon 6 processors will serve as the host CPUs for Nvidia’s upcoming DGX Rubin NVL8 systems. The announcement occurred at Nvidia’s GTC 2026 conference on March 16th.

This integration into a primary AI infrastructure platform reinforces Intel's position in the hardware market.

Intel shares (INTC) rose approximately 0.5% in after-hours trading following the announcement. Earlier reports also noted a larger intraday stock surge driven by the collaboration news and general semiconductor sector momentum.
