IonQ finalized its acquisition of SkyWater Technology, the largest exclusively U.S.-based semiconductor foundry. The deal, first announced in January 2026, establishes IonQ as the industry's only vertically integrated quantum platform. The company now combines quantum computer design with internal chip manufacturing.

SkyWater shareholders received $15.00 in cash for each share held. Investors also received 0.4883 shares of IonQ common stock per SkyWater share. SkyWater will now operate as an IonQ subsidiary.

The subsidiary will maintain its current commercial and government foundry contracts. This integration provides IonQ with dedicated production capabilities to secure its domestic supply chain. The move aims to reduce development cycles for fault-tolerant quantum computers.
