IonQ has signed a multi-year strategic partnership with South Korean quantum firm SDT to expand into the Asia-Pacific region. IonQ will supply its Superion 256 quantum computer and a silicon-vacancy (SiV) quantum memory module for a South Korean customer.
The agreement expands the existing collaboration from software into hardware production and resale. SDT will establish a quantum manufacturing and integration facility in Gumi, South Korea. This facility will serve as a global supply chain hub for the assembly and packaging of IonQ hardware.
The companies will also collaborate on a hybrid quantum-classical data center. A separate biomedical research project will launch in partnership with a regional cancer center.
