IonQ will provide the first on-premise quantum processing unit (QPU) for NVIDIA’s Accelerated Quantum Research Center.

The partnership integrates IonQ technology with supercomputers to advance hybrid quantum-classical computing.

IonQ shares rose significantly following the announcement.

The agreement schedules the installation of an IonQ Superion 256 system at the NVIDIA facility in 2027.

Engineers will link the QPU directly with an NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 system.

Joint research will focus on hybrid software and system prototyping for financial modeling and materials science.
