GSK acquired Chimagen to gain full global rights for a preclinical trispecific T-cell therapy. The agreement includes an upfront payment and milestones totaling up to $750 million. This move expands GSK’s portfolio in the blood cancer sector.

The therapy targets multiple myeloma, which is the third most common blood cancer. Current treatments often fail as patients develop resistance over time. Phase 1 clinical trials for the new asset are expected to start in 2027.

GSK assumes all responsibility for the drug's development and commercialization. Analysts identify this deal as part of a 2026 trend where major pharmaceutical companies use acquisitions to replenish pipelines.
