JetBlue faced a significant operational disruption on December 26, canceling nearly 22% of its scheduled flights. As of Friday, the airline had canceled 218 flights and delayed another 135.
Severe winter weather across the northeastern United States caused the widespread cancellations. Disruptions are expected to continue as the weather system threatens significant snow accumulation in the New York City area.
In response, JetBlue issued a fee waiver for customers traveling on December 26 and 27. The waiver applies to flights to or from major Northeast airports, including New York (JFK, LGA), Newark (EWR), and Philadelphia (PHL).
Affected passengers can rebook without incurring change fees or fare differences. This policy allows for travel rebooking through December 30, 2025.
