JetBlue Airways won a bankruptcy auction for Spirit Airlines' takeoff and landing slots at New York’s LaGuardia Airport. The winning bid totaled approximately $58.5 million, surpassing a rival offer from Frontier Airlines.

The acquisition includes 22 slots. These additions allow JetBlue to operate up to 12 new daily round-trip flights.

The purchase increases JetBlue’s total holdings at LaGuardia from 31 to 53 slots. The deal remains subject to final court and regulatory approvals.

JetBlue expects to begin network expansion using these slots in 2027. The airline will relocate its operations to the Marine Air Terminal.
