JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon projects capital spending on AI infrastructure by hyperscalers could reach $1 trillion in 2027. Speaking at the JPMorgan India Conference, Dimon noted this investment totaled roughly $300 billion last year. Current spending now stands at about $700 billion.

Dimon suggested this spending boom adds approximately one percentage point to U.S. GDP annually. He cautioned that while it could fuel near-term inflation, AI's long-term effects may be deflationary. For many large tech companies, Dimon remarked, massive AI investment is now "table stakes" to remain competitive. He noted that returns from these investments can be difficult to quantify in the short term.
