KBR Wins $1.1B NOAA Contract, Spinning Off $5B Unit Trinzic

KBR Inc. secured a $1.1 billion contract from the NOAA National Weather Service.

The agreement covers a five-year performance period.

The Mission Technology Solutions division will provide weather and observational data from non-federal sources.

Work is scheduled to run from September 2026 through August 2031.

KBR will spin off the Mission Technology Solutions segment into an independent, public company named Trinzic.

The new entity expects to launch with annual revenues exceeding $5 billion.

Trinzic will launch with a workforce of approximately 18,000 employees.

The spin-off allows KBR to focus on core government services and technology solutions.
