Eli Lilly’s GLP-1 weight-loss medications, Zepbound and Foundayo, are now accessible to eligible Indiana Medicaid beneficiaries. The state secured these drugs at a reduced cost by participating in the federal BALANCE program.
Manufacturers will supply the medications to Indiana’s Medicaid program for $245 per member per month. Federal support reduces the state’s actual cost to approximately $85 per member.
The agreement includes a lifestyle support program for beneficiaries at no extra charge. This move represents a significant step in expanding insurance coverage for the new class of obesity treatments.
