Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works and the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School demonstrated an AI agent autonomously flying a fighter jet.

The AI-controlled X-62A VISTA aircraft performed 27 intercepts of a live T-38 jet. These maneuvers occurred across eight successful test flights.

This milestone moves AI testing from simulated environments into real-world tactical engagement. A Legion Pod sensor tracked the target and fed live data directly to the AI.

The system executed tactical maneuvers to successfully close the sensor-to-action loop in real-time. This achievement provides a critical foundation for future autonomous combat systems.
