Motorola has captured the leading position in the U.S. foldable smartphone market with a 50% share, according to new data from International Data Corporation (IDC). This achievement places the Lenovo-owned brand ahead of competitors Samsung and Google. Motorola's success has been driven entirely by its clamshell Razr series, as the company had not yet released a book-style foldable in the region at the time of the report.
Motorola's dominance extends to Latin America, where it holds a 55% share of the foldable market. The company's performance is weaker in Europe, with a 13% market share, which still ranks it as the second-largest player in that region. Globally, Motorola's share of the foldable market has climbed to nearly 14%. The company is expected to expand its portfolio with the launch of its first book-style device, the Razr Fold.
