MDA Space Ltd. secured a $688 million contract from the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) to develop a new synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite. The company will build the spacecraft for the RADARSAT Constellation Mission using its proprietary CHORUS technology.

Production will take place at the MDA Space facility in Montréal, covering the full lifecycle from design to commissioning. The agreement also funds upgrades to ground control and data management systems.

MDA Space expects to add the contract to its backlog in the second quarter of fiscal 2026. This award follows a previous $44.7 million agreement for long-lead satellite components. The mission supports critical Canadian capabilities in national security and environmental monitoring.
