Indonesia’s Ministry of Communications and Digital Affairs issued a stern warning to Meta Platforms regarding the spread of online gambling and disinformation. The ministry cited a low level of compliance with local regulations across the company's platforms.

Meta reportedly took action on approximately 28% of flagged content related to these issues. Communications and Digital Affairs Minister Meutya Hafid delivered the warning following an unscheduled visit to Meta’s Jakarta office.

The ministry urged Meta to enhance its content moderation systems and accelerate the removal of illegal material. This directive applies to the company's Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp services.
